La Música: Tradition through Music

In 2004, when Father Denny first arrived in Northfield, he noticed that the Spanish church choir only sang English hymns that were translated into Spanish.  After Father Denny met with the choir directors (two non-Hispanic community members), the directors and the Hispanic community began to work together to find Hispanic musicians who could contribute different Christian Latino hymns to the service. They ultimately formed new choirs to sing more familiar (primarily Mexican) religious songs during Mass.
