Special Events
The NBMC also hosts various other events, such as a Community Celebration in April 2013 that celebrated both the Buddha’s birth and the center’s 17th birthday. This event involved a regular Sunday sit, followed by a panel of teachers, board members, founders, and former members who talked about the history of the center and its sangha. Following the panel discussion, a Chinese music ensemble from Carleton College played several classical pieces of music, to the delight of the attendees. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a potluck lunch together.
