The Vestibule and the Classrooms
The Vestibule
The Vestibule is the first part of the Temple a visitor will see. Straight ahead, the back deck of the Temple, which overlooks the Meditation Trails, is visible. To the left are several tables; many tables are covered with brochures and pamphlets about Eckankar and one table is designated as the Information Desk, where, at any given time, two Eckankar volunteers called hosts sit and offer to answer questions or provide guidance. To the right is the entrance to the Sanctuary and the hallway to the upper floor classrooms. Immense and bright twenty-eight-foot wide octagonal skylights bring sunlight into the space.
In each classroom, moveable and stackable chairs promote group discussion and dialogue, while a table with pastel-colored artificial flowers and a framed photo of Harold Klemp, the ECK Master, sits against a wall.
The Classrooms
Past the octagonal hallway that encompasses the Temple, to the right are a series of small and medium sized classrooms. These classrooms are used for study classes, meetings, and presentations. All of the classrooms feature large windows meant to let a significant amount of light in, as well as to provide a view onto the surrounding 174-acre property. In each classroom, moveable and stackable chairs promote group discussion and dialogue, while a table with pastel-colored artificial flowers and a framed photo of Harold Klemp, the ECK Master, sits against a wall. In many of the classrooms, paintings or artwork by ECKists hangs on the walls.
