A Senior Monk Visits

Swami Ganeshananda (or simply called Swamiji, out of reverance) visited the Minnesota Hindu Milan Mandir for the Mother’s Day Concert. Though his English is not great, he met with members of the Mandir, led satsong, and played a large role in the event, as a sort of guest of honor. This is not the first Swami to visit  MHMM. The presence of these leaders brings an ineffable difference to the day-to-day of the mandir. For example, one member told me over oranges and pears after gardening the front of the Mandir “When I met him, you could tell, it was like being in the presence of someone who is plugged in. It was almost magical. It was an honor. He gave me a mantra, I can’t wait to see him again.” In this audio clip, Swami Ganeshananda lists several of Bharat Sevashram Sangha's locations around the world. He then explains the organization's idealogy as "world brotherhood."

In this clip of an inteview during his weeklong stay at the Mandir's new location in Farmington, Swami Ganeshanada talks about his impressions of America. Although it is not his first visit, he resides in India, where he presides over a Bharat Sevashram Sangha temple. He is known as a senior monk in the organization.
