Presenting Hinduism
The Farmington temple has obvious signs of a Christian past. The temple is filled with Christian icons from its past. The outside of the brick edifice is embedded with a glass cross. The main hall of worship has a neon blue stained glass cross at the center of the altar.
During the meetings leading up to the inauguration in much of the logistical conversations turned to how to best make the space appear publicly Hindu without offending the building's past and the Christian community.
