Living Word Christian Center, or LWCC, has experienced an impressive growth spurt since its founding. Started in 1980 with an original membership of 12, LWCC is now one of the largest churches in the Twin Cities area. As of 2024, LWCC boasts a membership of 10,000, which includes both members who attend the church service in person and members who watch a weekly live broadcast.1 Led by Senior Pastors Mac and Lynne Hammond, LWCC can draw thousands of congregants for their worship services, particularly as many members also view the services via the internet or television. With a staff of twenty pastors and seven associated pastors, as well as numerous administrative assistants, ushers, and friendly greeters at each entrance, Living Word prides itself on fostering a welcoming, accessible, “come as you are” worship atmosphere. LWCC has a broad range of activities and events for every age group in addition to five weekly services on Sundays and Wednesdays.
