As visitors approach the Chinmaya Ganapati Mission, it becomes clear that it is not another Christian church, but a Hindu place of worship.

The temple blends in with its rural surroundings since it is housed in a former Methodist church.

Although the exterior of the Chinmaya Ganapati Mission resembles the Methodist church from which it was purchased, the tireless efforts of the community have transformed the Mission's interior into an easily recognizable place of Hindu worship. The Chaska Chinmaya Mission's location is ideal for the large. Hindu community that lives in the Twin Cities' suburbs.

A map displayed in the Chinmaya Ganapati Mission's lobby shows the locations of other Chinmaya Missions across the world.

While the Chinmaya Ganapati Mission in Chaska may seem to be isolated from other Hindu gathering spaces in Minnesota, it is intimately connected to the Chinmaya Mission satellite center in West St. Paul, which has been hosting activities for parents and children in the Wellstone Community Center on Saturdays. Additionally, the Chinmaya Mission centers in Chaska and St. Paul are "part of the global Chinmaya Mission network"1 which includes approximately 300 independently run Chinmaya Mission centers spread across the globe.
