The Future of Sitagu Dhamma Vihara

Sitagu Dhamma Vihara has plans to soon move out of its suburban Maplewood location.  Following the template set by the Austin location, Sitagu Buddha Vihara, they have made an offer on a 23-acre farm space in Chisago county, northeast from their current location.  The space will offer a large dhamma hall, a separate residence for the monks, and a cultural center where Koe hopes they can have Burmese language classes and a shop to sell traditional Burmese goods such as lacquerware and statues of Buddha.  They also hope to build a large, Burmese-style pagoda as a shrine to a relic of Buddha, just as they have in Austin.  They are currently waiting to obtain proper zoning permits.
