Subject

Christianity, Evangelicalism in MN

Description

The Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church also known as Mindekirken was founded in 1922. And despite the push at the time for churches to convert to English only services, Mindekirken held true to its roots and continued to this day to hold services in its native Norwegian tongue. Despite several hardships during the Depression, the church remained a structure and home to those who wished to practice the Lutheran faith in the Norwegian and Scandinavian ways. Over 90 years as a church and community and it still holds true to its original mission to practice faith without losing their culture.
