Description

Five days after George Floyd’s death in May 2020, Bethel Lutheran changed its sign to display the involvement of religious communities in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, and speaking out against racism and police brutality in Minnesota. This Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) is located in South Minneapolis, less than a mile from the location of the killing, in close proximity to the major food distribution that occurred in the weeks after George Floyd’s death.
